Oil Painting

Completing this painting has been an evolving journey, one that started last year and has required countless hours of reflection and intentional pauses. Each break felt like a moment to recalibrate, much like balancing the varied aspects of my life.

Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.
Albert Einstein

This piece holds deep significance, portraying an exploration of balance in both life and nature. I’ve woven themes of support, harmony, and the inevitable cycles that shape our existence. In the painting, a man and woman support one another with unwavering trust and love, yet they navigate a delicate tightrope—a powerful metaphor for the challenge of moving in harmony. This movement requires constant adjustment, as true balance does.

Similarly, nature reflects this need for equilibrium. We all carry desires and wishes, yet not all come to fruition. The falling leaves in the painting symbolize life and death, nature’s timeless way of maintaining balance through cycles of renewal and decay.

The tightrope imagery serves as a reminder of the balancing act we face amid life’s demands. Achieving harmony is about more than just managing responsibilities; it’s about aligning them with our personal joys. This painting speaks to the essential role of trust, love, and resilience in finding equilibrium amid life’s complexities.

“Balance is not something you find, it’s something you create.”— Jana Kingsford.
